EPA Lead RRP Certification
Working around lead paint? You MUST be trained first!
If you are a contractor, carpenter, plumber, or electrician who works on homes built before 1978, you must be certified according to the EPAs Lead Renovation, Repair and Painting (RRP) Rule. VT Tech Green Trainings offers an 8-hour Lead RRP training that certifies you to meet the law and instructs you in what you need to know to protect yourself and your customers from the dangers of lead paint and lead dust. Beginning April 22, 2010, federal law requires that contractors performing renovation, repair, and painting projects that disturb more than six square feet of paint in homes, child care facilities, and schools built before 1978 must be trained and certified to follow specific work practices to prevent lead contamination. See the EPA's Lead Information Web page for more information. |
