Energy Auditor

Want to take the next step and become a certified energy auditor? This rigorous two-day course will give you a solid grasp of the steps involved in an energy audit, the techniques used, and how to apply them in the field.

An energy auditor requires a solid level of knowledge in a broad range of topic areas including building science basics; physics (heat transfer, electricity, human comfort); construction; math (including conversion factors and energy-related equations); as well as staying current with energy-saving products and techniques.

The skill set required includes good communication skills for working with clients; data collection and observation skills; spreadsheet skills; and data analysis.

This course will cover all the basics through a variety of hands-on modules that each student will complete individually and as part of a small group. Certification requires successful completion of the set of modules and a multiple-choice test. Note: A laptop with Excel spreadsheet program is required for this class.
