Blower Door

Whether you are building a new home or working on a renovation project, your clients want assurances that your work will not only stay within their budget but also meet energy performance standards. VT Tech’s two-day Blower Door course provides all the training you need to offer this standard of testing on every job.

You already know air leakage and home performance are closely intertwined. But with this course you’ll learn both why and how to measure it during two days of classroom, hands-on lab work with equipment, and field analysis using the Blower Door.
  • Learn the principles of air leakage.
  • Learn how houses perform as influenced by pressure differences caused by air sealing, placement of mechanical devices, and more.
  • Find and measure air leakage using the Blower Door, Blower Door software and interpretation of Blower Door test results.
  • Examine methods for determining cost-effective and minimum ventilation requirements.
Advanced techniques using pressure gauges to determine the potential for back drafting and pressure balancing of ductwork on forced air distribution systems will also be discussed.

This class is a perfect compliment to the three-day Installer class and is really a “must-have” for every weatherization installer, energy auditor, home performance contractor, and general contractor.
